Though the soils in this hilly region of the Languedoc, 20 minutes from the Mediterranean, closely resemble the coveted composition of Burgundy, the local culture actually dominates the style of this Pinot Noir. "Pas de Probleme," the equivalent of "no worries," is the guiding principle behind this casual, quaffable red.
Destemmed, lightly extracted, aged in steel and bottled without fining or filtering results in a delicate, breezy style of Pinot. There's a lovely minerality around the edges, while the palate sings with wild strawberry, currant, mushroom earthiness, and a touch of bitter chocolate. This wine could take itself much more seriously, but chooses to remain in flip flops.
