Wolffer No. 139 Dry Rose Cider is made exclusively from New York State apples. A sizeable portion (15%) are grown locally at the Halsey Farm in Bridgehampton, just 3.6 miles from our vineyard. The majority (85%) of the apples in this special cider are grown by DeFisher Fruit Farms near Rochester, New York. Winemaker and Partner Roman Roth chooses dessert apples (vs. cider apples) prized for their flavor and aromatics. The blend is as follows: Jonagold 25.0% Empire 1.2% Mutsu (Crispin) 24.4% Granny Smith 0.8% Golden Delicious 24.0% Pink Lady 0.5% Nothern Spy 15.5% Red Delicious 0.5% Braeburn 2.5% NY2 (a locally developed variety) 0.2% Idared 2.0% Winesap 0.3% Fuji 1.5% Gala 0.2% Cameo 1.2% Gold Rush 0.2%
